Thought I was done disputing and just checking my reports to make sure nothing new got entered and Equifax removes my current address and inserts a previous address in its place, moving my current address to a previous address!

I disputed a previous address that wasn't mine ever. My new "current address" is now the previous address that was listed right below the bogus previous address. Like there computer program just moved all address up one slot or something.

    Back to the phones....

New addresses that aren't yours on your credit report can be a warning sign of identity theft. (I.e., someone could be applying for cards in your name with their own address). Get Equifax to disclose to you who reported the bogus address and follow the trail.

In your case, maybe someone who now lives at your previous address got an offer in the mail and made a stab at getting credit in your name.

Some creditor updated your file... they still have your previous address as active. You can contact eq to ask which creditor changed the address and then contact the creditor... if you don't it will continue happening. EQ can not cloak addresses. They can change it to your current, but the next time the creditor updates, it will just get messed up again.

Yes and CC companies cannot change addresses on closed accounts, and CRA's refuse to delete them. So there we go.... constantly fighting about the old addresses. Idiocy!!! They should just delete closed accounts if they are causing that kind of problem and we request it.
