I had a defaulted student loan that was garnished my wages 2 years ago, now it's all done paid for. It reported in my credit file as "paid collection" which mean same as "bad debt". how can I either have it remove completely or have it reported in a more favorable way like "paid" and retract all past dues reported? should I use estopell letter or dispute it?
Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! Hi HD. Welcome to the board. Whenever a TL is negative, but paid in full, the CA [allied interstate] has no reason to access your report. If they do it's without a permissible purpose, and is a flat $1,000 fine. So - make em pull your report (No PP). Then you'll use that violation to extract their cooperation. You do that by leveling an FCRA charge against them for inaccurate reporting and telling them to fix it. But don't tell them why it's wrong. They'll [probably] pull to see what's wrong and boom you got em. See? . Butch,
Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! Maybe this is what broke the board!! Butch's post with lb's ID. What a combo!
Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! Nice catch! I think this was the last post before CN Blackout 2004. I can see why this took as long as at did now. A very busy 5 days I bet! On the bright side it is funny though.
Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! Creditnet note: Following this post, I received several "Alerts" related to whether Butch and lbrown59 are the same person. The fact is that both parties to known to Creditnet, and we're certain that they are in fact separate people. In this case, note that lbrown59 has actually lifted Butch's earlier message (including Butch's distinctive signoff) with a simple copy/paste from this thread, at bottom. I hope this resolves the excellent questions raised by such unusual posting. CCN steve
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! I never thought they were the same person. Actually I would be surprised if they lived in the same time zone. The 2 personalities between Butch and lbrown59 and the way they post things here at Creditnet would prove that. I didn't mean "nice catch" in that way. I meant it as it was probably the last post before the blackout, which might have caused it. Sorry if I caused others to think otherwise.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! 1*Actually I would be surprised if they lived in the same time zone. The 2 personalities between Butch and lbrown59 and the way they post things here at J. Vick 71 ><- <>- ><- <> 1*Actually we both live in the same state about 125 miles apart. 2*We both have financial information learned while working at the same company. While we may be different we do have something in common.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! I didn't see Butch's post in this thread, unless lb lifted it from another thread and pasted it. That's one thing I hate about lbrown's posts--he can't seem to learn to distinguish his drivel from other peoples's posts.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! Butch I was quoting you is why your name was at the bottom of the message. Had I left off your name it would have appeared that I was taking credit for your message. NOW DOES EVERYBODY FEEL BETTER? Is there anybody left who don't get what this was all about? ><- <>- ><- <>
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! Just use the quote function, put your comments outside of the quote, and we'll be fine.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. I'm just so glad this board is back! Daisy
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! So, LB are you saying that you are Butch, or are you saying that Butch is you, LB??

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: simple ? YES or NO! LB, you must know this, but here's how to properly quote someone, which not only gives them credit for writing it, but shows that you're quoting them:
