When sueing for violations do you have to sue for the $1000.00 per violation or can you sue for a very small amount, like $500.00-Reason being maybe they won't show up or just settle? What would you base a small amount on(basically how would you word it or describe how you came up with the amount)? Next question- In small claims do you have to have a compliant drawn up? Basically you want it to be a little higher then what the alleged debt is and to cover your costs. Thats what I am doing.
