    Guys,

If you go to court and lose, will this show up on your credit report as a judgement and also, does it affect your score in a negative way.

I have to suit I'm about to try in court against two of the big three and am wondering wha the consequences are if I lose. Thanks

    Are they counter-suing you?

I haven't filed yet. I highly doubt they will counter sue. They have no claims against me ....

If they don't counter-sue, then they have nothing to be "awarded" if you lose, so no judgment. The only other thing would be if they were awarded attorney's fees, but you have to be found to have acted in bad faith bringing the suit.

I sued the water company and lost and the judgment was placed on my credit report.

There was no counter suit either.

Both the suit and the judgment can be on your reports.

lbrown59, when you say "both the suit and the judgment" can appear on a consumer credit report, what do you mean by "the suit"? Just because you sue somebody, or somebody sues you, that doesn't result in a report to the credit bureaus. It's only when a monetary obligation is ordered by a court that the matter becomes relevant to your creditors who want to know that you haven't just been sued out of solvency.

    Doc

P.S. A donkey with an IQ of 186 appeared on his credit report.

1*I sued the water company. Judge ruled the water co didn't owe me any money.
Some time later I applied for credit and was denied because of a judgment on this suit.
I pulled my report and there it was right on the report which included information on both the suit and the judgment.
2*It can and does happen: I should know it happened to me.
3*Suites can be listed on reports even before the case comes to trial judgment or no judgment.
Law suits are a matter of public record just like any other information on record at courthouses.
Ever notice this question on loan applications? Have you ever been a party to any lawsuit?
How would they know if law suits aren't reported by the CRAs?
I believe breeze also once had lawsuits posted on her reports and the reporting of them is one of her pet peeves.

4* Doc stay off my reports lol.
