Pretty impressive, huh? lol. The good thing is I only have the Chase, Capital One, IC Systems, JC Penney and Sears left on my EX after 2 disputes. Now if I can just get the same results with my EQ and TU. Any more suggestions? I am a newbie but here is a game plan that I have used when clearing my credit report. Also I am including steps that I did not take when I initialing started. Sign up with Credit Expert and Privacy Guard. www.experian.com and www.privacyguard.com Cross reference which baddie shows up on all reports. Pick a credit report. Clear the names, and old addresses. Also, clear the old addresses associated with those baddies. Clear old telephone numbers and employment. In fact, let the old employment stand on the report. This will prove important Only have 2 addresses listed. (my recommendation) Before you begin, check your state's Statute of Limitation for Collecting. Also check to see if your state requires that CA be bonded in your state. Read all posts both old and new. Especially read Psychdocs credit repair primer and FAQ's, know it, understand it. Read the FTC, FCRA and FDCPA. Once you have read. Ask for next steps. Your thought process should be, what would be easier to remove? Would any of these jerkoffs except settlement or do you even want to pay them? If they accept settlement, how to ensure that they don't screw you in the end? Will a goodwill letter work for the late pays? When is enough an enough and should I move on to the next report? Can I incorporate some of my strategy on this report for the next one. (That is why I do one report at a time)
Can I jump in here? What's the benefit of disputing old addresses? and is there a generic form letter to use? If so, what's the link? Okay, back to the regularly scheduled topic.... Tricia
SOME SAY...if a "BADDIE" is tied to a VERY OLD ADDRESS...get rid of the address...then dispute the "BADDIE" as "NOT MINE" there is a very good chance (better than 50%) that it will go bye bye...
Oh very cool. I like the idea of that. Thanks! So is there a letter for that? Or just a "Dear Sirs, this address is not mine?" Do I need to include a current utility bill, i.d. or something?
Yes, for Equisux and Transunion you can fax it in or call. For Evil Exp, you can call to remove old addresses. Clear up the small things and then attack the large stuff.
I see that IC systems is the assignee of debt from JC Penney, I think that you should request validation from IC systems, dispute with EX,Transunion, and EQ as not mine. Do all of these as certified, when the green card comes back, whether you get a reply or not for validation, send a letter to EQuifax, that how come they refuse to re-investigate or how come they can validate when you, the alleged consumer can't get any information? This normally makes them nervous. Also, send a nice little copy of a letter that you are going to send to the State Attorney General and FTC. This makes them nervous too. I am under the impression that these cra do not investigate. If they really did do investigations, most of this crap on your report wouldn't be there to begin with. Don't you think they would have asked IC systems as an assignee to list once with a total amount instead of twice. Check out the form letters, cut out the legal jargon and go for the jugular. Pray that they will pull a CRA from you, get them for non-permissable purpose. Go and check your reports and see if they did it anyway. That is like an automatic $1k per report per pull. (a good tool to use when validating)
