I have an old unpaid CC with HH ($2300) and the SOL will run out 2/03 (6 years SOL). My qusetion is do I risk disputing this in CHOD? I didn't want to wake the sleeping giant but I really do want to get this off my CR. I have heard HH can be aggressive in collections but I haven't heard anything in about 9 months from them or a CA for this account. thanks nhokt
You are so close to the SOL, I think I would wait and dispute it later when you know the SOL is up. Try disputing something else during CHOD. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Personally, I would not risk it. The sol is only a few months away and you very well could awaken them. As a side note, I think the CHOD is a good idea, but I think you guys may be disappointed in the results. Because they are possibly short handed during the holidays may cause a few screw ups, but I just don't see mass deletions because of it. I hope I am proven wrong.
Thanks for the advice. I will wait for the SOL to expire before contacting them. Can I assume that the SOL beginning date is the date of last activity reported on mr CR's? thanks nhokt
Well, the way I figure it, the stuff I'm disputing have all been disputed at least twice, and verified. I've written Student loan letters, to my congressmen, blah blah blah. This is a last ditch effort on a few of these things, and if it doesn't work, I'm no worse off than I am right now. I guess it may not help, but it can't hurt. I agree with you though, I personally think that in crunch time, they are just going to hit the verify button, instead of the delete button. If I can one thing deleted, it'll be worth it.
