Does anyone know the SOL for North carolina? For collecting a debt?

They can collect the debt indefinatly, unless you C&D them.

They can also sue you indefinatly also.

But after 3 years you should have an affimative defense and any lawsuit they file against you will be dismissed.

What about the DOLA. I know that derogs stay on your file for 7 years. I have some due to come off in the next year. Is there a dispute letter example that could use to send to the CRAs that make that point? Such as "This is an outdated debt please remove"?

    Thanks

They won't delete them until you are at about the 6.5 year mark, although if you dispute at about the 6 yr mark, they might just drop them early.

You don't want to send a letter saying these are past the SOL, you want to dispute them as not yours or something similar and hope they will just remove them early rather than bother to verify. It might also cause who ever holds the debt to harrass you, in the hopes you don't know about SOL and will pay.
