This question is actually a big part of the problem in Ohio. So far, I don't think anyone has been able to find out for sure just exactly what Ohio considers credit cards. Everything I've read so far just sort of dances around it. I saw one place that said they were revolving charge accounts and that late payment fees could not be assessed on revolving charge accounts. If that's true, you would think that we could sue the CC companies for something since they all charge late payment fees. Couldn't find an SOL on Revolving accounts either.

That depends on what part of Ohio you are in:

In Cleveland, it is a Perogacharge...combination between a Perogi and a charge card but it tastes GREAT

In Cincinatti, it is a Chillicard...combination between a bowl of chilli and a credit card still tastes great but you cant leave the bathroom for weeks as a surcharge

In Dayton, the only charges are for Court-Marshals

In Bowling Green, they don't have credit cards because everyone waits for 10 cent beer Thursdays

In Columbus, they have the HighStreetCard and the OSUrcharge card pretty much self explanitory for Buckeye folk

In Youngstown they have the Bowl-a-charge...knock over 100 pins and you get your next months APR reduced by 1%

In Chagrin it snows too much for charging...everyone waits for the spring thaw and uses the money they saved up over the winter

In Toledo, they use the PinkPanther card ... made completely of Owens Corning fiberglass, Peter Sellers was their spokesperson and their minkey broke the law

In Kent, there's the NationalGuard-Card...10 Soldiers and were finally on our own

In Akron they have the Pretenders-Card

In Canton they use the Hall-of-fame card

In Athens they have the Halloween-o-charge

In Oxford they have the DanMarino card

Have I missed anyone...I tried to be fair :))

It is kind of confusing but if you have lived there it all makes sense.

    -Peace, Dave

    Nave,
you are killing me!! That was great for moral alone.. OHIO THE HEART OF IT ALL?lol,,,,,{;-)

Dayton, home of the Wright Brothers? I thought they were from the Carolinas?

    Dayton Ohio, the GEM CITY?

Cinci Chili-too damn sweet. No one else in the country has ever heard of it unless they have been here...Of course many folks have not had the privledge to indulge themselves in the feeding frenzy of a WHITE CASTLE SLIDER, Yep it does slide right down your throat. I think they spell it SLYDER...

Go to Califronia and ask people about Jimmy Buffet.. You'll get a glazed "I dunno look"....

First flight territory ...Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills NC...but don't say that too loud Breeze will think "beach" and we all know it is still too cold to go there. That's just plain mean. :) Sounds like you spent some time in Gem city :) check this link out

I have had many (6) bags of White Castle slyders LOL They used to have one with peanut butter...I was never brave enough. The holes in the burgers were always a mystery. :))

Don't get mad, but in the west this is what we say about Ohio - "Ohio, where the boys are boys and the sheep are scared" LOL (my ex wife is from Columbus)

I called the AG office for Ohio regarding SOL for credit cards. The number to dial for that department 614-466-4320. In the State of Ohio it is 15 years. It is considered a written contract.

Well that sucks! Thanks for the info.....might be time to move out of Ohio and find a state that's a bit more understanding towards people who find themselves with some financial problems. Seems unfair that a defaulted CC debt can only stay on your credit report for 7 years, yet Ohio allows 15 years for them to sue you...unlike most states where it's 3 - 5 years.
