I live Wisconsin, but I am moving to South Carolina at the end of this month. Now I have a few charge-off's that are 4-5 years old. Now the Wisconsin SOL is 6-10 years long on various debts. But the South Carolina SOL is 3 years across the board. So if I am going to move to South Carolina does that mean the SOL is up on those charge-off's???
From what I have been told, it is normally the state in which the debt/original contracts were signed, not 100% positive though.
All the SOL does is solve the lawsuit matter question.. if they never serve you, then you don't need to worry as much either.. the SOL is for judgements.
