Hello all. I have been reading the post here for 3 weeks and decided to dive in and try and get my ship "saling" smoothly agian. I have now recieved copies of my CR from EQ/EX/TU I got the 3 in 1 online credit report from www.equifax. Most accounts give the following information Date Open(Is this when I myself opened the account 5-7 years ago) Balance Date (most are 2002) Balance amount Prior delinquency (not listed for accounts that are with CA) the collection agencies have been very consistant about updating their reporting status on me? At least thats what appears to be happening?? Also depending on what CRA one looks at, there is a differnce in the date of the prior deliquncies and the date opened??? What?? Note all the accounts have been late for about 5-7 years, and, I have not opened any accounts during the last 7 years. What are the CA doing by stating account was open 2002. How do I find out the exact date when the SOL begins....I have read it begins whith the first dilenquincy?? That was 5-7 years ago....My 3 in 1 credit report does not give this information it only states the date open and that information is supplied by the CA and from what they state the this is in 2002 for several of them....eventhough this is not true... How can I handle this situation...and use the SOL to get this stuff removed. Thanks Much
Do you have matching OC tradelines for these CA accounts? The date you are looking for is the Date of Last Activity (DOLA) The first time you became delinquent and never caught up. Just because a CA began collecting umpteen years later, doesn't mean there is a new DOLA - that stays the same. Need more information really, to help you.
Hi Well my 3 in 1 report does not have "the Date of last activity." Perhaps I need to get anothe CR?? In the collections section for TU The OC for one account is listed and states the Date Open as 08-2002 (This card is 5-7years old and 5 years late) there is also the balance date of 09-2002 bal of $2070 and a Date of Status??? of 09-2002 This same account is listed with a CA through EQ in the account information section but for Date Open there is no date...however the bal is the same and the balance date is one month later 09-2002 the weird thing is there are no prior delinquencies listed. I have not paid any money on these accounts for 5 years how can there be no delinquencies? Whats going on...How do I find date of last activity...can this date be fudged?? Also I am concerned about the quality of this 3 in 1 CR report I got online from Equifax.com Any sugestions> thanks
I always recommend that your first report come individually directly from the three CRA's. Well worth the money. And alot of times much easier to read!
mcb, Yep, I too started with the 3 in 1 over at Privacy Guard. Then I ordered the 3 individuals to find out what appeared to be missing. *grumble* I am still lacking DOLAs on several accounts listed. Hopefully you will be luckier. I am assuming I will find out when I send out the validation letter and they will send back information like a DOLA. Or, maybe there is another way to find out the DOLA is if not on the reports?? Beats me, I am new. I found Equifax to be the most detailed and helpful. Gives details and addresses of OCs and CAs, lists the hard and softs inquire separetely, DOLAs are easiest to read,,, Cleared up a lot of missing gaps for me. The TU CR is the least detailed. Gretch
Nothing. They do that when they get a collection account. It means nothing. I agree with the ladies, get Equifax's report individually. That one is more detailed and most likely has the original DOLA's. You're lucky, you did not open any new accounts in 7 years. It sounds like you now have the law on your side - 7 years, then delete, so begin calling the CRA's and request they remove all these items. Whether they remove it now or in 6 months, the law says it's got to go after 7 years. =)
