Hi all. If a ca is trying to collect on a debt that has past the sol for my state, can I just send them a letter stating the the sol has run out and get lost? Is there a form letter on here? I can't seem to find one.
Also, I have a jugdment that I need to pay, will they settle? I'm going to call them today, I think, I'm afraid they are going to go after my assets.
    Thanks for your help!

If you are sure the account is past the statute of limitations there are letters for that. A simple C&D letter with the notation that the account is past the SOL will suffice as well. The CA/law firm that holds the judgment may be willing to settle, but I don't know why they would, they spent quiet a bit of money to get you in court in the first place. So if they do settle, be prepared to possibly pay it all at once and very quickly for the best deal.
