i need some advice on what to pay. I have some charged-off credit cards and some collections, and I need some advice as to what I should pay and what would be more beneficial not to pay and to just wait it out until it falls off my credit:

    Charged off credit cards:
Card Date of Last Activity Amt. $$
    Captial One 11/02 $625
    1st Premier 12/02 $427
    Bankfirst 02/00 $587

    Collections:
    H&R Block 01/01 $40
    (Bounced Check)
    Verizon 07/02 $339
    Time Warner 08/02 $91
    Apt. Complex 09/02 $1263
    Medical Bill 11/01 $150

I have the money to pay many of these off; however, I think that since some of them will fall off in 3 yrs or so (and are getting older in the meantime) it may not be beneficial to pay them off and update the account.

I would like to attempt to send some Pay for Deletion letters for some of these as well. Any advice? Has anyone had success with any of the above companies with a Pay for Deletion?

    Thank you for your help!

I really would consider paying that returned check. That could be turned in to ChexSystems, Telecheck, other check services, and the local law enforcement.

Even though it is going on 4 years old? I thought it would do more harm than good... I have a checking account now and have no problems writing checks, so I'm not sure that ChexSystems was notified...

you may consider paying the small one's off, and getting them to delete, however many of your accounts are old and small, so why not dispute with the cra first? if the cra doesn't cooperate just pay them and then dispute. after that you can be sure you'll have them on inaccurate reporting a paid debt and it will go away with some effort.

I'd consider paying off the little one's and attempt a pay for delete FOR THE BIGGIE, .

get rid of the little guy's first and deal with the stubborn one's later....that's the process, at least so far as i experienced.

From experience, I can add a paid small item is more likely to be deleted than any unpaid item.
