Some good news and some bad news...

Which do you want first? Okay, I'll give you the good news first since the bad is simply depressing.

I received a letter from Household today stating that they had no record of me in their system and I should contact the cra's to dispute and get it removed. I faxed this letter to both TU and EQ so hopefully that account will come off. I even called this guy who sent the letter and he told me if the letter didn't work to let him know (suggested they call him, but I told him they said they weren't allowed to and he laughed and said that was a lie that they call all the time) and he would send a UDF for me to get it deleted. Woohoo!

And for the bad...I spoke with CCB yesterday and they told me to fax them a copy of what Gulfstate sent to the CRAs to delete and then they would also delete. I knew that was too good to be true, but today I called back to see if they received my fax. THERE WAS NO RECORD that they got the fax or said they would delete. Okay, I knew this would happen...expected it even, but still I thought it was worth a shot.

So I've been doing some research to see what kind of cause of action I would have if I decided to sue. I can't find anything strong enough to base a suit on! If I want to wait until Febraury, 2003, I could sue based on them reporting obsolete information, but until it passes that seven year mark and the information actually IS obsolete...I don't think I would have a case.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!
    L

Did you get the fax transmission confirmation as proof that they did receive it? Otherwise, try again.
