    Here's another one for everyone....

My wife and I have a joint JCPenney card that I have used maybe once in 18 years. She keeps a high balance on it but is never late and there are no negatives....BUT, my question is, with the balance so high, does that end up being a neg or a pos for me? If neg, I will drop the joint. If pos, I will ride along swimmingly..

    Your thoughts?

I think it is both a pos and a neg. Pos for the age of the acct 18 yrs is a long time. And the balance could be a neg because of utilization. I would leave it alone and keep it for a positive tradeline.

    Just my 2 cents

I agree. But if all of your cards have high utilization it might not be good. If your utilization is pretty low, I think it's more positive because of the length.

But I suspect the APR is high. If she has a balance all the time, I'd concentrate on paying it off or transferring to a lower rate card.

If it just shows high utilization because she charges a lot every month and pays it off, that's not so bad. But store cards typically have high APRs.
