Could someone explain this account history to me:

    Paid in settlement/Account charged off
    Account History:
    Charge Off as of 5-2000 to 7-2000, 11-199 to 3-2000, and 7-1999 to 9-1999

    180 days as of 2-1999
    150 days as of 1-1999, 7-1998
    120 days as of 12-1998, 6-1998
    90 days as of 11-1998, 5-1998
    60 days as of 10-1998
    30 days as of 9-1998

Scheduled to continue on record until 9-2005
    This is off Experian directly.

How can an account be charge off 3 times?
How can an account be 90 days before it is 30 days?

Or am I reading this wrong?

Ok were you 30 days in 3/98 then 60 days in 4/98? They may have missed those late pays or never reported it. Also you must have made a payment in 8/98 and then restarted the clock, this would all be true if the CRA's reported CORRECTLY 100% of the time.
As for being charged off 3 times, did you pay it about 3-4 months after charge off? This is exactly how hubbys card looked after his charge off and that was the reason why. I guess they can report charge off every month, cause technically it is, they have lost money on it and until the get SOME cash, it's still a charge off. Doesn't make it right, but when are the CRA's EVER right?
Dispute as never late, or paid before collection or something.

I donâ??t remember much, I guess I can hunt up the old statements. I did make payments three times, I was set up for a payment schedule, I made the first two payments but the original CA failed to send me correct settlement statements. The CA would send a couple different settlement letters a week each with a different amount. I made the final payment in 7/00 to complete the settlement, even though the account had been sold to another CA. I contacted Cap One when the new CA tried to collect the full C/O amount, stating that I never made the first two payment totaling over $1000. With my final payment of $200 I paid $1200 on a $1370 dollar C/O Cap One was satisfy and closed the collection on me. I guess I will have look at my statements and payments when I get home.

Thanks for explanation. I have tried; not mine, never late, paid before C/O and just in January I tried disputing the history. All came back unchanged.

Donâ??t know what to do now. Any ideas? Anyone?
