son of nutcase response-what to do?

I sent Doc's original litigious nutcase letter to a fully paid original creditor reporting multiple 30-day lates to all 3 bureaus. The creditor had verified the information with each CRA for each dispute.

I received a letter back indicating that the reporting was correct and accurate. Furthermore, the creditor even changed one of the 30-day lates to a 60-day late (I guess just to spite me). This caused my EQ score to drop from 720 to 637 (it was the only derog). This was several months ago.

I gave it a rest for a few months, and then, two days ago, I faxed the son of a nutcase letter (thank you whoever posted it originally, I wasn't able to determine who the original author was). Today I received a voicemail from someone at this creditor saying that he was looking into the issue and trying to resolve it, but couldn't locate a record of my account. He asked me to call him with opening and closing dates and any other information so that he could resolve this. In both the LN and the son of a nutcase letter, I included my name, current address (which has changed since I had the account with this firm), and the account number. No SSN#.

I don't know what to do now. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I call him back? If he wants to delete this, will he be able to send a UDF without my SSN, assuming he's telling the truth?

    Thank you!

What state you live in? did you keep the voicemail? God I would save that thing on any piece of media I could. Ask them to send you what they want in writing and why they need it again. IF they can't verify it when you wrote them then how can they verify it with the CRA?

See if they can get your to write what they said in that voicemail on their letterhead. Then use that and send to CRAs.

That's a great idea, thanks. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Re: son of nutcase response-what to

Hi, Missy, in my two successful nutcase letter forays, I included my SSN#. I would not return the phone call. Instead, I would resend the Son of Nutcase letter. Slightly modify it to include your SSN# and that this is your third and last notice before filing the lawsuit. (Obviously, you're not really headed for court with the nutcase series -- the object here is to be a continued paid in their butts until they remove the tradeline. See the original rationale for nutcase letters in the FAQ.)
