I have found that the best thing to do, if it seems to lock up or you get an error, is to copy your post (don't paste it anywhere yet). Then use the back arrow to go back to the thread where you wanted to reply. Reload the page. If your post doesn't appear (it almost always does, because it's really processed), you have the copied text on the clipboard, you can hit reply and then paste it in again.
