I recieved a letter in the mail from equifax stating thanks for requesting you cr, which I nevered did.The thing was it came straight from atlanta when we have an equifax right up the street that services us...the catch was the one from atlanta said teesha ans not lateesha which is what the one local has...So I went online since I am a member of their service and pulled one and they both have totally differnt stuff...The one from atlanta has judgements, lots of inquries, and paid collections. The one locally has no judgements, only one collection and the only inquries are from this year only...What could have happened? Is it possible I have a spilt file? The only thing I can see is they have a teesha and a lateesha with the same social soc.# and address, and last name...I wonder which one lenders see?
What your talking about sounds like a merged file and not a split file. You may be in for a major hassle.
Well wouldnt that still be like having two differnt files? If I understand what merged means...I have one with bad credit under Teesha and under Lateesha I have good credit.....So what can I do to fix this...I mean my local has an inqurie stating credit bureau of my city pulled it ...Why I dont know...So what should I do to fix this problem ...Please help...
A merged file is the opposite of a split file, instead of having two separate files you have someone elses file merged into yours. That would explain why you recieved a credit report out of the blue. Someone else requested their credit report and it sent it out to your address. Anyways I would start out by sending a dispute letter to the credit bureau CRRR. Make sure it includes the following points. 1) you tell the credit bureau in your dispute that your file has been merged 2) Look on the credit report, and tell them to remove whatever personal information that is not yours and current. 3) dispute all the negative accounts as "not mine" If they fail to straighten it out I'd recommend getting a good consumer attorney to deal with it. Not the run of the mill type, but one who specializes in consumer law only. There was a case where TU kept merging a womans files, she sued and won some megabucks It got turned over later, but i'm sure she got a nice settlement out of it.
But you see all the info on the one that says teesha which I by at work or friends call me its my stuff but all the bad stuff I disputed and had removed..With business I always use LaTeesha and on that file I have all the mostly good accounts with a few badies but it takes only two pages whereas the one with Teesha takes four...Thats why I thought it was split because its all my stuff just one is going by teesha...I guess I will call and see whats going on or go down to their office...
