I'm hoping this isn't a dumb question, but I've been wondering this for a while. I'm working on my credit reports and my husband's. When something is disputed, is it best to dispute one spouses account first and see how that pans out or do them together? Does it make any difference? I disputed a gas credit card on our reports at different times - one one report it was deleted and on the other it was verified. Do they link the spouses together, so that if I'd dispute the verified account again, should I cite that it was deleted off of the other spouses report or just let well enough alone? And if I do dispute it again, and it comes back verified again, will they update the other report that it was deleted on???? Thoughts?? Ozzy.
i have disputed the accounts at the same time because it was easier to monitor but we have totally different credit files and I have seen no evidence of accounts being linked as you have mentioned. So I don't think it makes a difference... If you don;t dispute it, it will stay there, even if it is removed from the other's report.
