Hi, Just received 1st letter from CA for Cell Phone bill. They want to settle and nothing has hit my 3 CR as of yet. They are giving me 30 days to dispute the validity. the Balance is 700.00 and they want to settle for 80%. I was just discharged from a chapter 13 bk and don't know how to handle this. Plse advise. was it included in the bankruptcy? ALWAYS do a DV within the 30 days - it helps you enforce your rights if you deal with it right away. they cannot report it until the prove the debt because that is continued collection activity.
No, it wasn't included in BK, this is the 1st. time hearing from them. Never receive anything from Cell phone company before. I have composed a validation letter to be sent to CA asap. I just pulled CR this week and don't need anything else negative to appear. Thank you so much for replying, I'm just starting to review all the post here to get as much info to tackle this clean up. So, I will need all the support, I can get. I look forward to talking with all you pros and survivors.
