Starwood Offer

If you have been thinking about applying for a Starwood card, now is the time. I got one last year after Saar posted a link for extra bonus points.

Now they are repeating that offer-- right on the Starwood site

If you apply by Feb 28th you can earn 10,000 bonus points your first year.

I love this card, and highly recommend it to everyone.

(Although, thread for another day, I think Amex customer service is steadily declining. It's a shame, because their cards keep getting better and better. I guess you can't have everything. Sigh . . .)

Starwood points are pretty nifty.

1000 points can upgrade your room, 2800 points + $45 dollar gets you a room, and 1000 points buys you a coupon you can use for 5 nights at 1/2 price.

If you are patient, you can save them up and transfer them to your airline--if you accumulate 20000 they give you a 5000 point bonus -- 25000 airline miles .

Also, they have a program called Nights and Flights
that is almost too good to be true

for 60K points (sounds like a lot, but they actually add up fast) you get 50K airline miles PLUS 5 nights free in a Starwood hotel.
