I called again today... LONG STORY SHORT... Did a BT ($4,500)~~~said they lost it... Did a 2nd BT ($4,500)... BOTH SHOWED UP ON CHASE M/C...NOW MY BALANCE IS -$4,500. SORRY WE CAN'T DO 2 BT'S FOR $4,500 ON A $5,000 CREDIT LIMIT ACCOUNT, YOU MUST BE MISTAKEN!!! OK..............
If I BT the $6,500 limit (CHASE) + $4,500 less a little "LEWAY" I'm afraid it MIGHT COME BACK AND BITE ME IN THE BUTT!!! IF NOTHING HAPPENS TO THE $4,500 IN 2 WEEKS, I GUESS IT'S MINE??? I'm NOT going to ARGUE WITH STATE FARM...this week was enough... They were informed, that's all I can do...
likely they have or will put a stop pmt on the first bt they thought was lost...then chase will boink you for a bounced check... then State Farm will have to contact them to get it corrected... I had Cap1 send a HFC transfer to Nextcard and a Providian one got lost... then we figured out the Prov went to HFC... well... HFC actually remailed the Prov pmt to Providian (of course, Cap1 had put a stop pmt on it in the interim). Prov processed it, it bounced... I got hit with fees etc... Cap1 called Prov directly and everything got corrected and I got a card upgrade from Cap1 for it... but still, pain in the butt... expect a 4500 stop pmt... they don't give money like that... couple hundred you might get away with but not 4500...the check must not have cleared off Chase yet... nice wishing though
likely they have or will put a stop pmt on the first bt they thought was lost ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They said it NEVER HAPPENED...(never was processed~~~never sent~~~no paper work)...
wow... even odder. well, if they have lost it... you never know If they have an audit process they may catch it. Too bad Nextcard didn't do it, you know you'd be home free if it had been them... Guess I've just gotten skeptical in my old age I just wonder if the accounting dept put a stop pmt that the regular customer service reps don't see... You'll know in the next month or so
I AM REALLY WORRIED WHAT CHASE WILL DO TO ME~~~EVEN IF STATE FARM ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY!?!?!!?!?!?!
I would say nothing more, let it fall through the cracks, it's not incumbent upon you to correct their mistakes; if it comes up, so be it, if not you just got a bonus.
Chase will apply both checks as "payments" to your account. They will send both present both payments and one will be returned as "No credit available". You will incur a fee. Call customer service now or after you receive the letter regarding the returned payment and explain the situation with State Farm and thay they assured you the check would not issued. Your account will not be affected negatively, because this was not your fault. Hope this helps. Email me of you have any questions: rosestone5@juno.com
"But what will CHASE do to me???" Send you a check for $4,500 after 30 days or so, if nothing else transpires.
If Chase sends you a check, I would not plan on keeping the money, George. Sooner or later they will want it back - just put it where you can get the interest, and be ready to give it back when they find their mistake. However, you can probably play it for all it's worth with SF - get something from them for your trouble. Linda
I told them to give me a limit of $10,000 so when it comes in...IT WON'T BOUNCE!!! Just called says "BALANCE $4,500 AVAILABLE CREDIT $500" The problem is the FIRST BT for $4,500...(2 weeks earlier)...not yet charged to my account...BUT CHASE M/C GOT THE MONEY...
I understand what happened - and if it isn't straightened out soon, Chase will send you the $4,500. Then, if SF still hasn't figured it out, it will feel like you have an extra $4,500. But when SF does figure it out, they will want it back, and you'd better have it to give back, LOL. They will do mean things to you if you don't. If I were you, and it gets far enough for Chase to send you a check, I would send SF a Cert RR letter, and tell them one more time. But I still would not plan on keeping the money. That's all.
