I called State Farm today asking for a CL increase. I was transfered to a live person and was able to explain I wanted it done without an inquiry because of my pending mortgage and also because I wanted to take advantage of my new 2.9% bt offer and didn't want to be at over 50% utilization (also because of the mortgage). She understood everything and went back to manually look at the Equifax report they pulled last January. She increased my credit limit $4,500 to $9,500 on the spot with no inquiry. She was VERY nice and understood about credit scoring and why I wanted what I did. Those of you who kept your State Farm accounts, I recommend you call. My account was opened in January of this year.
I just called and was told by "Tamara" they would be happy to give increases using your old report...but the account must be open 6 months, but not too far past 6 months or they will need to pull a new report. I opened in March, so she told me to call around September 5th and they would be glad to help me. Thanks for the info Dave.
Looks like my timing was right on then with the account going six months old in a few weeks. I'm sure they'll take care of you in September.

Mine is still closed since I could NOT trust them since they LIED to me about the 3.90% BT... I STILL CAN'T GET MY CREDIT BALANCE REFUNDED!!! It has been almost a month!!! "It takes a while to process and mail" It took ONE DAY to "BANK" my payment

Re: State Farm: Class act after al Ron, let us know what happens. I'm pretty happy with them right now. With a little bit of proding on my part they did what was right with the whole bt thing. Plus, add the $4,500 increase today to the $3,050 in increases I was able to get from some other accounts last week and I've received $7,550 in credit limit increases without a single inquiry in the last couple of weeks. Heck, for the longest time I never even HAD $7,550 in credit.
Re: State Farm: Class act after al if you guys don't mind sharing, what were your scores when you applied? I am assuming that they pulled Equifax no matter what state you are in, is that correct? did you have any sort of discharged BK on your reports?
Re: State Farm: Class act after al I applied last week and they pulled both an Experian and Equifax. Got denied with ~650 for both scores.
