hi yall...just a quick question about SFV. Does anyone know their requirements. I applied online and received "make sure to sign and mail" page. I called today and was told that I'd receive a response within 7 days. From what I read online wouldn't they already know if I'm denied/approved? They pulled Experian, which has no negatives, but I carry high balances and have a "sh*&*t load of inquiries.

If I was approved, would she have said?

    You PROBABLY got approved...

You want to know what your limit is???

TAKE YOUR LOWEST LIMIT AND TAKE 20% OF THAT...THAT IS YOUR LIMIT...

    MY EXAMPLE...(TRUE FACT)...LOWEST $5,000 X 20%=$1,000
GOT IT RAISED TO $5,000 BUT WHEN I WANTED THE 3.90% BT RATE...IT ENDED UP BEING 11.65%!!!

SO I CLOSED IT FOR THE SECOND AND FINAL TIME...

Ok, thanks. I'm going to go ahead and pull the experian score just to see what it is.

    Thanks

If you don't have any negative account on your Experian, they will approve you.

I just tried to pull my EX score and the site said "couldn't verify" your identity. I was rushing and didn't include my middle initial or my phone number...you think it would deny me the score based on leaving out that info?

I first applied for SFV in March. I received a denial letter. I had no negative tradelines, high reported balances and only a few inquiries (4). CE score around 660. The denial was bogus. Length of time with current employer.

When doc posted his experian inquiry trick, I disputed the inquiry (verified). When the investigation results came back, I opted to let them send my updated report to those whom had viewed it within the last 6 months. State Farm received the new updated report. My balances had decreased significantly from the first report. I received the card in June. I was approved for a $2000 CL. My score was around 700. They reported to Experian before I was even sent the card. LOL

I checked my EX report today and saw the State Farm Inquiry, but the card isn't being reported...is this an indication of disapproval for the card. It's only been a couple of days since I applied. Should I call them again? I don't want to appear to anxious.

No, I don't think it means you were denied. I was just commenting on the fact that I received the denial letter. Then, 3 months later the account showed up on my credit report even though I had not received a welcome letter, card, or anything but the denial letter from them.

    NOT AT STATE FARM...

Since I had no way to PROVE the 3.90% BT offer ever EXISTED...I closed the account for the second and FINAL TIME!!!

    cavent2,

Too many Inquires. When I got approved, I only have less than 5 inquiries last six months.

That's what I thought...well, I called today (2 days since I applied) and was told that my application was "pending"...I'm sure she meant "pending denial" LOL. We'll see.

    cavent2,

Most people got the status of the application after 4 hours. I don't know why they took them that long. I got approved for $5000 back in Dec and after six months I request limit increase. They increased my limit to $8000 without hard inquiry.(account review).

I just don't understand why they will not tell me...also I'm unable to pull my CE score...something about them not being able to verify..I think they've flagged me. I've really cleaned my report very well within the last 60 days...I went from having 7 derogs...to no derogs..they couldn't verify anything...this is the first time I've applied for credit since the report has been cleaned.

i think you need to Experian customer service and asked them what's the problem of your credit report.
