I am wondering what states have the best laws for the consumer ( us ).

I have heard that some states have stricter requirements for validation and that some states have defined shorter periods of time that negative items may be reported.

Finally. ( and I know this is broad ) I am wondering what kind of success people have had with suing CRA's for reporting inaccurate info. Experian continues to reprt items as late that the account holder verifies have never been late. I also have a CA that is reporting an account that is truly not mine. The company they claim they represent also indicates that there is no record of me having an account there.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank You

    Thank you for your reply.

I should have been more complete in my posting.

I did send a validation letter to them. Unfortunatly at the time I was not aware of the Crrr requirement.

They did the investigation and came back with a verification. I don't see how this is possible. When I call the credit card company they incicate that I have NEVER been late on the account and have mailed me a hard copy letter indicating so.

I sent a 2nd validation request and included the letter from the credit card company and again the debt was validated.

This is frustrating. I wish we could get the laws changed in our favor or to make this process easier.

They pay the politicians to much to change the laws. That's why the consumer needs to stop supporting them with our money.
No product is worth the harassment and mistreatment they give us!!
We control the purse strings not them.
They seem to have forgotten that.
It's high time that we remind them of it.
