Got a 3rd rate postage letter in the mail from RJM Acquisitions looking to collect on a debt my wife had in her previous marriage from 1989.I haven't and will not contact them the debt was for $200.00 under my wifes other last name. From what I see in google these scumbags buy junk debt and try to collect and if they don't they try to put it on your credit report .Can they still put it on my wifes credit report if she now for the past 10 years has had another last name and what is the statue of limitations to post this on my wifes credit report???This was from 1989 .Thanks

It is far past the SOL. Regardless of the name, the account can not be reported. Send them a C&D.
