I have a closed credit card with Capital One.

Experian and Transunion both list the remarks as Account closed by consumer yet Equifax lists in the remarks as Credit Card Lost or Stolen.

I am wondering if there is anything negative regarding this?

The account was closed in good standing and has no lates or anything like this so I dont want it removed.

And have them remove a positive entry that is helping my credit? No thanks.. =)

Just wonder if this entry hurts me in anyway. If not, I will just leave it there as is

    Hi KobeKatt.

    You are absolutely right.

In a case like this what you want to do is go directly to the OC, (Cap1).

Tell them there's a mistake, and you may even want to include a copy of the CR, (the TL ONLY) to prove it.

Ask them to re-report correctly. And send you a letter to confirm it's good standing.

And YES, "closed by credit grantor" hurts you.

    Hello Butch. Thank for responding.

So having a TL that says Credit Card Lost or Stolen would be a negative, just like Closed by Credit Grantor? Do they have the same affect?

I will take your advice and dispute this directly to the OC. I will be sure to update here when I get a response.

    Thanks

    Oh GEEZ.

    Sorry Kobe.

I thought you said it was listed as "closed by grantor". Now that IS negative.

But "lost or stolen", if it did cost any points it would only be a cpl.

Practically everyone has a card lost or stolen at one time or another.

Also - if it's an old TL the time it adds to your report may outweigh any negative.

If it's otherwise good, other than "lost or stolen" I'd leave it.

Glad you clarified. I guess I'm gettin sleepy.

    :)
