Quick question - I have lived in Illinois until recently (a few months ago) when I moved to Arizona. The question is, I hear people say talk about the state they live in and their statute of limitations... So does the statute of limitations go by the state you were in when the debt or late payment occurred, or the state currently living in? So if I moved from a state with 7 year statute, to a state with 4 year statute, would a past due debt change to the 4 years, or stay at the 7? Did I phrase that right? I feel like I'm talking in circles???
whatever court the suit is brought in, that states SOL will apply most of the time. However you should look up the statutes of AZ and see what they say about limitations. Sometimes they talk about this very thing about which SOL applies.
