Hi all, I'm back. I went ahead and pulled my Experian report and my score is 625. For those who don't know, I am on a debt elim program and should be rid of the credit card debt by August!! Information from report is below...please send me suggestions as to what I can do. Should I get a secured credit card? I think you really would get a better understanding of the process as a whole if you spent some more time with the first threads stuck on this board (the FAQs and PsychDoc's Primer). They can really get you in the right mindset to understand *why* you are doing what you will be doing and *why* you'll do it in a certain fashion. That said ... I would think disputing "not mine" or "never late" with the CRAs would be a good place to start and see if you can't pick some low hanging fruit. These are pretty straight forward derogs, but if the CRAs wont delete them, you'll have to try other tactics with the OC. But before you try to contact the OC, you need to know your DOLA and see if the SOL has run out for your state. Also, if you paid down that past due amount, I think you'd see a score boost, if that's what you are looking for. Maybe someone else has some more advice ... I would just again say to really read and re-read those first threads before you start firing off letters. peace, delilah
Thanks Delilah. I am new to all this and unfortunately skipped the "read, read, read" step. I am doing that now and will continue to do so. I want to say THANK you so much for all of you providing invaluable information to those like me. Thanks again! Pster
