Just got an invitation to his seminar in Costa Mesa, CA on March 2nd and I purchased his book at Border's last night. The book looks interesting and I'm looking forward to hearing what he has to say on rebuilding credit.

The one thing that he mentions in his book is to tithe/give 10% of your income to your church or a favorite charity. I have to admit this is a very hard concept to swallow since I'm barely making ends meet. However it's not the first time that I heard of a financial planner/advisor suggesting giving away 10% of your income.

Has anyone had the courage to give away 10% no matter how tight their budget was? Was it worth it??

Yep! I don't know what it does as far as taxes is concerned but spiritually I have been highly rewarded. There was a time I didn't do this and the spiritual rewards were few. You asked, I answered.

i started tithing about 8years ago. It helps you put money in perspective. My husband and I are very active in our church and even though things are tight sometimes (he isn't working right now) we have continued to tithe.
