Need help. Sent Val. letter to them, and they did respond within the thirty days, but, the problem is that this was a secured account. We filed for Chapter 13 in 1996 and included the difference of $176.00 in the bkpt. According to what they validated, it was computor printouts with intrest and later fee accuring after the bkpt. Now they have been reporting a balance of $886, and state if we dont pay by the first of August it will be sent out to a collection firm. It was my understanding that once you filed for Bkpt, all collection and intrest stopped at that time. What do I do next. Thanks, Roni
Is this the difference between the amount owed at the time of the bankruptcy and the amount of money that was in the saving account?
The amount that was owed after the deposit was approx. $176. The aount the are trying to collect has late fee and intrest charges applied after the BKPt. had been filed.
I have never done a chapter 13 bankruptcy but I thought that type of bankruptcy would involve a repayment plan over 3 to 4 years. What did the court say about this particular account?
