Sean, I have to disagree with you. Nextcard was the first company to give me an un-secured CC, even though it was at 24.99%, I was thrilled. No more secured cards. Then when my scores increased and I asked them to reconsider my interest rate, they lowered my apr to 9.9%. I realize that they took advantage of my poor score to rip me off on apr, but I have yet to pay them a cent in interest and I still have it. I'm hoping a "good" CC company picks up their prime cards.
I am also hoping that the accounts in good standing get picked up. My card is working fine at the moment. I used it Friday.
Pat, I respect your opinion. However, to the thousands of consumers who had scores in the 700 plus range and were issued a card with a 9.9 fixed rate were taken to the cleaners. Most of these consumers saw there APR jump from 9.9 to 24%. Nextcard, I would argue, is almost as bad as sub prime lenders. Sean
George, I sense that you are defending Nextcard. This company has engaged in so much deceptive practice over the last twelve months. I'm glad to know that you are happy with them. I can assure you that your opinion of Nextcard is in the minority. Based on pending civil litigation alone, their corporate business practice speaks for itself. It clearly paints a troubling picture that has left many consumers taken to the cleaners. Sean
Lizardking - What do you mean by this? Is it a matter of Cap One buying up Nextcard accts that are in collections or something more sinister? George - I'm a happy Nextcard user. They have steadily decreased my APR over the two years I've had the card. However, I like to stay informed so... Sean - would you care to give more info on the Nextcard problems? Are there news stories, etc. on the web that you could direct me to? You can email me off line. Thanks, G
I have had no probs with NextCard. 1% rebate, decent customet service, good online site, periodic CL increases. I too, hope somebody decent buys them. Hopefully NOT Cap1! -Cliff
I had 2 increases in the credit limit...NO INQUIRES ($2,000 jump) ...$6,000--->$8,000--->$10,000 ME 9.99% WIFE 18.99%--->12.99% They were a good company...I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHO IS BUYING OUR ACCOUNTS... THE F.D.I.C. CAN'T HOLD ONTO THE ACCOUNTS FOREVER!!!
Gabriella, You can begin with Planet Feed Back.com and type in Nextcard and see all the other consumers who were jacked around by this company. Then check with the Better Business Bureau (BBB.ORG). If you have any other questions I can refer you to the attorney that is handling one of the class action suits against Nextcard. Sean
