This one really scratched my *$$ ... Lowes is opening up new stores in Boston - we like a lot of their stuff vs. Home Depot (plus the stores are cleaner ... kind of like Target vs. Walmart -sorry George). I have a Depot card w/$15k. I also have a 7-year old BK. Tried to open a Lowes account... BIG decline. Nasty rep. on the phone practically laughed and said "we would never approve anyone with a BK ... The system approves or declines and we can't manually review anything." I responded with "Why not take $4k of my Home Depot limit and move it to Lowes" ... that went over like a fart in church. GE/Monogram is a strange animal - they keep increasing my Home Depot limit- an account originally opened as a pre-approved - but they can't / won't open another account (even though they keep sending preapproved Penney's, Walmart, Exxon, etc. ). I guess 4 years of low utilization and high payments (but some revolving so they do make a profit on the account) ... doesn't mean anything. If it weren't for the 0% offers, I'd close the damn thing and only use my Target Visa or Amex there. Anyone ever get anywhere with Monogram on a reconsideration? PFB? TIA- mj
I just shot off a PFB for something totally different...but had to say this IS totally stupid. I would be so pissed. I applied for JC Penney and Old Navy the same day, not knowing they are both MCCBG. I received 2 denials...reason: You have already applied for credit in the past 45 days. Agreed on the 2nd application, but what is the excuse for the 1st application that hit? They suck and now I don't even want their lame-ass card...lol. I would PFB or call someone on this instance though.
I just paid off the 0.00% CHRISTMAS PROMO (WAL*MART) $2,275... I called today for an increase...HUGE ONE RIGHT??? WRONG!!! NONE.
