I opened up a store card when I was 18 - got married at 19 and added my hubby to the account. He never applied for the account - was just added. It's a negatiave account - 1 90 day late and 1 30 day late that is due to fall off this September or so. Now Tu already ditched the negatives and moved it to a positive but the 'closed by credit grantor' notation is still stuck there. I'm worried that this will happen with EQ and EXP when the lates fall off. This store verifies everything and is a pain in the tushy. Now... on the reports it lists my hubby as a JOINT owner of the account, but I'm sure he never applied -I just added him over the phone. Wouldn't that make him an AU? I mean, could they have pulled his credit without his permission - I know he didn't talk to them. So what I'm asking is this - the account was 8 years old when it was closed. Pointwise, would it be better to let the negatives fall off and have it moved to positive status, or try to have the account totally removed from my hubby's reports since he was, to the best of my knowledge, just an AU. Thoughts? Oh.. on EQ, the #1 reason for him not having a higher score is 'serious delinquency' and this is the only delinquency on the report. His score today is 712. Thanks, Ozzy.
Have it changed to "ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CONSUMER"...or get rid of it TOTALLY... Should really be an AU...
