I am not sure how to explain this one..... July 17th- My credit line was $2,700.00. It had been that way for over a year. I wrote a letter via PFB asking for an increase. I was told NO as I had a late on one of my other cards within the past year (not true, but...) but they credited me one years worth of interest, approx $130.00. I was ok with that. July 20th- My credit line mysteriously jumps up $100.00 to $2800.00. No reason given. July 24th- I get an offer in the mail for a $2000.00 increase for $49.00. I send it in. My credit line is now $4800.00. This week- I get my statement. My Credit limit has increased $250.00, my limit is now $5050.00. No explanation given. Thats $2350.00 over three increases within two months for basically no reason- AFTER I was told NO when I asked. FYI, current interest rate is 11.99% Weird. Anyone know what it takes to go Platinum? My card is currently gold. Shawn
The only thing that sounds strage is the $250 increase. I would check to make sure you were *accidently* signed up for something like credit guard, roadside assistance, or whatever.
Good thought! I checked it out, and NO such thing has happened. No transactions in the last 1.5 statements. Just the increase(s). No complaints here, just curious.... Shawn
I had a similar thing happen. Contacted Providian via PFB, they agreed to everything else except a line increase (said I had too many recent inquiries). Then 1 1/2 months later I had a 2000.00 increase. About a week later I received an offer to buy an increase on my other Providian card. I didn't get any other mysterious increases though but I'll keep my eye out now.
JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE............ Got a letter in the mail today, "Thank You", $3000.00 increase for $49.00. Now FOUR increases totaling $5350.00 within TWO MONTHS! I honestly don't remember being in New Hampsire in the last tow months. let alone kissing someones butt, so I don't know how this happened. Maybe PFB works better than we though! Shawn
