I sent out a couple of validation letters on 4/24 to Medclr and Marlin Integrated Capital. I haven't heard anything and was just about ready to send out estoppel. But, guess what?

Today, I received a letter dated 5/21 from Equifax that says that have been deleted from my credit file. Even stranger, I pull my report everyday through privacyguard and it still shows the accounts. It also showed them on 5/21 when the equifax letter is dated. What is going on here? Has the item been re-inserted? Why am I unable to see that these items ever were deleted?

Tried to call equifax, but they are closed. Any opinions on what has happened? BTW, don't they have to notify me within 5 days of a re-insertion?

    Thanks.

I don't think its been a reinsert I would wait a few days and re pull my report and see whats on there then. I think that many of these CA are getting the point either validate, remove or be sued and they r sitting up and taking notice of the consumers rights finely thanks to many of us here on CN

I just went and looked at every credit report from 5/20 through today on privacyguard. Those two accounts are there everyday. I also have equifax creditwatch and there has been no change in my credit file on equifax. So why the mystery letter, and what should I do with it?

It clearly says that Equifax has finished their investigation and both tradelines have been deleted. This is very strange indeed. Should I call equifax tomorrow and make them delete based on the letter they sent?

PG doesn't always have the most accurate info. If you want to know, why don't you just pull a new equifax report from the equifax site?

I already used my four "free" reports, so now I only have the monitoring service. I plan to call them this morning...surely they have a record of their investigation results. One of the accounts is even still listed on the "updated" credit report they sent with the investigation letter. I am interested in your comment about PG. If they are pulling the report directly from the bureau, why wouldn't the have real time information?

    Thanks for the reply.

Update!....Called Equifax....The lady said that there was a glitch in there system and those two collection accounts should have been deleted. She assured me they would be deleted within 3 business days. WooHoo!

Just for info. These two accounts were from Marlin and MedClr and I didn't have to send out estoppel. I only sent out debt validation letters...never got response.

    Thanks for the help.

Many more to go.....but now I am juiced!
