   I owe some money on a delinquent CC. It has gone to collections.
   
   I can pay the whole thing off.
   
   What is the best strategy for paying it and getting them to remove the TL?
   
   I want to make a deal but have never done so.

   How much is it? What company? How long has it be deliquent?
   
   You can call and ask to pay it in exchange for removal of all negative info from your credit report. GET THIS IN WRITING FIRST. They might go for it, or they might tell you to take a hike.
