Re: Re: Re: StressMD,CCdebt, min pmts, consldt,bk TR- Your welcome and I agree I could have made the list considerably longer...but I was just trying to illustrate a point. People who are righteous and expect everybody else to conform to their standards make me so angry. The people who state "I did such and such which makes me the high standard for the human race as a whole to follow." People are individuals which is what makes each person interesting. You can't put everybody's lives into one neat niche and demand or insist they follow your standards. I certainly don't advocate for bk to people who have a small amount of debt and have other options. Stress is not one of those people...he has $172,000 worth of debt including his student loans and he is making $37,000/year right now. In his case I would advise a bk which I backed up with numbers and facts. On another thread I advised a young guy who was served a summons for 10G (repo'ed car deficiency balance) and 5 Gs in credit card debt to explore all his options before considering bk. This young guy owns a home which could be attached by the car attys. So I advised him to try and negotiate a reasonable payment plan and if they won't budge then file a 13. There are people I do not approve of who have had their debts discharged while still keeping their luxurious mansions...Ken Lay, Andrew Fastow and Schilling of Enron, Scott Sullivan of Worldcom and the most famous of all....O.J. Simpson. Before losing a whopping civil suit in CA he already had purchased a home in FL. So his home is protected and so is his NFL pension. These are cases of amorality and imorality and abuse of the bk laws. These guys are criminals...Stress is not. clc PS to my detractors:hmmmm...where are my apologies or do we need more time to read Section 525 of the U.S. Code??? What I find interesting is when bk suits the moral majority's opinion they holler foul when it is on their credit reports. When it doesn't they just holler "anything but bk". Oh how the worms turn! PPS Stress is on his way to pick up his car today. Gee I wonder how I knew that????
Re: Re: Re: Re: StressMD,CCdebt, min pmts, consldt,bk There won't be one coming from me. I called for a truce and I stand by that, but it never meant that I agree with you. Stress is a grown man who can make his own decisions. The problem I've had all along is that you appear to be pushing him toward BK. That's your opinion as to his best course of action. I just don't understand why there's such a big rush. Yes, I understand that BK reform will most likely happen, but doesn't that still give him until close to September to cool off and study all of the facts? I never claimed to be an attorney, financial advisor, banker, or credit consultant. I'm none of the above. You may balk at my ideas and, again, I respect your opinion. I was just tossing out some ideas to him like everyone else. I also never said that you were "wrong" about anything you posted. I just fail to understand why there's such an urgent rush for him to do exactly as you say.
Re: Re: Re: StressMD,CCdebt, min pmts, consldt,bk I wasn't referring to you, Struggler....as you can clearly see by the quote from an earlier post on this thread. I am sure Stress is educated enough to make the decision that he feels is his best option. He obviously has loving parents who were generous enough to buy him a car. He has other family members who have stepped up to help him get settled where he will be training. That is a lot more than many people have. So whatever he decides I am sure he will be surrounded by his loving family. That is (like the commercial says) "priceless". clc
