So since I last posted about ditchingmy debt settlement company I have been working with my cc companies (luckily most have not gone to collections, i think this is a good thing right) and making payment arrangements with them. Some are accepting small payments and putting me on plans, some are asking the full price of the past due minimum payment balance to get the account up to date and its small enough I can just pay.
But.... one of them is being just downright mean to me and I just dont know what to do to get them to budge and work with me. One of my chase cards (owing $2300 and must pay $365 for three months in past due payments and fees to get it up to date) will not let me get on a payment plan to pay it off. My cc bill from them says i am in legal default and owe them the entire balance immediately. I have called them two times to see if I can send them a smaller amount and they just start saying things like, you expect us to give you a payment plan? What kind of plan do you think you are going to get? Give us the whole $365 or we will start taking legal action. So does anyone know what to do in this situation? My idea is to just save the money and hopefully in a few moths (while more fees are accumulating) I can get the minimum payments and fees paid up. Im just scared they may try to sue me before then. Can they sue you if you are just like 5 months behind?
