DH has a unpaid charge off from the electric company when he moved and I guess forgot to pay the remainer of his bill.

I have disputed with the CRAs and it came back verified. I sent them the utility a letter saying I dipsuted the debt, but would pay it in full for deletion.

Along with a computer printout that looks about right, the electric company sent DH a letter that says in part "... enclosed is a statement of your account. as you are aware accounts are opened over the telephone. A written record is not required. please send your payment to ... after payment is received, the credit bureau will be notified and the account will reflect that it has been paid."

"Paid collection" is not good enough for me ...
this account drops off in 6/04.
    Its for a whopping $98.

    I'm thinking WestCap endorsement?

Any other ideas to get it OFF?

    peace,
    delilah

"Due to the fact that I put in a change of address when I moved...but I never received the final bill...I will pay it in FULL at this time with the stipulation that you remove the account from my credit reports...there was never a refusal to pay...I just never received the final bill"

"You had my phone number, new address, cell phone number, work phone...YOU had some responsibility to TRY to contact me when the bill was late"

    I like Georges post...
Also, maybe you can try to get them on some FCRA violaitons.. are they reporting the status to the CRA's as in dispute, etc???

    Thanks George!

I think I will try that tactic, which I can't beleive I didn't even think of telling them -- the truth, what a concept! HA!

I was so fixated on being mad at them because they keep verifying and I was looking to be confrontational.

But I think I'll try this instead.

    peace,
