Hi everyone, I'm new here and have been reading in the newbie section. I called to opt out as recommended and just finished writing all three letters to have old names and addresses deleted. I also applied for a secured capitol one card, which I' going to send money to soon. I'm a bit confused on the rest. I'm just going to put everything out here and see what you recommend. !. I have a car loan on all 3 credit reports that have been reporting since 9/2010 that I'm 90 days late on a car they repossessed back in 2008, so it looks as though I still have the car and doesn't list it as repossessed any suggestions on how to handle this? 2. and as far as charged off credit cards, what's the best way to go. I'm really confused with dispute, validation and verification. I have two of them, both starting reporting bad in jan. 2009. Tribute with a balance of 230.00 and salute with a balance of 229.00 3. I have a NSTAR Gas bill for 4,017.00 that has been charged off. they have been reporting it since 2005. 4. I have a medical bill for 390.00 that is closed and was assigned to attorney/collection agency or credit grantors internal collection department. 5. I have a civil judgement from civil court from 01/30/2007 from an apartment I rented for 2900.00. it says contractually, liable debt. 6. I have another car loan that is listed as involuntary repossession with a balance of 5760.00 I would greatly appreciate any advice, I really wanted to clean things up and buy a house.
Welcome to Creditnet! What's your goal here? Are you trying to clean up your credit reports for any specific reason, and do you have a general timeframe in mind? Here are some of my initial thoughts in response to your questions: 1.) Dispute it through the CRAs as incorrect 2.) You can't send a DV letter to an OC. If there's something incorrect here to dispute regarding the charge offs, go that route and dispute through the CRAs. 3.) This should be falling off your credit reports sometime soon. Is this debt in the hands of a CA now? 4.) Do you have funds to settle this? If so, you may want to contact the medical provider to see if they can pull the debt back from collections so you can pay them off directly. 5.) Has the judgment creditor tried to collect from you yet? 6.) How old is this repo, and what kind of communication have you had with the creditor?
