I thought I'd give all those who have student loans out there a little infomation. I consolidated about 1 year ago with the Ford Foundation. If you decide to do this, pay attention. I signed up for the automatic debit and will receive a permanent decrease of 1/4 point. Also, if you have 1 year of on time payments they lower your % rate (I think another 1/2 to 3/4 point) permantently. The best part is not having to write checks, buy stamps, etc. Also, the people at Ford are very nice and very well informed. They will give you every repayment senario under the sun, just for fun. Just a little informatin for those of us with school loans.
