Anyone out there have any success getting rid of late payments on student loans? I have been paying on time for a couple of years now? I was planning on writing a nice letter begging them to change it. I am on an autopay program. I want to consolidate but would like to fix this first. Any help would be appreciated.

I've sent a couple of letters to Nelnet regarding my student loan lates. They denied it at first, but I kept calling them and explaining my situation. They eventually said they will remove them if they get approved. So, they have to go through approval process. I recently sent another letter to support the investigation. I haven't heard back from them though. I heard from other listers here that student loans negative notations are tough to get rid off. Let's cross our fingers.

Someone on either this board or creditboards.com posted they sent a goodwill letter and had several lates removed. I know that CitiBank removed a ton for me after I rehabbed my student loans thru the guarantee agency - which they didnt have to do.

Thanks I am going to try it. This is my only really serious problem. I have negatives but they are old.
