My loans are deferred till March. I was 150 days late
before the defferrment. My credit report says I was 90 days late 5 times. The last was 9/2000. I want to remove these late marks.

I spoke with Sallie Mae today and she said they never reported it late. Probably the previous servicer as it has been transferred.

However the reporting is in Sallie Mae's name. They want me to send them a copy of the report so they can check it out further. She said that they don't remove things as a service unless its wrong on their part. She also said the deferment help me to get things removed.

There is some inaccurate information on the report and I could dispute it and probably have it removed.

This tradeline is 20 years old and I really don't want to lose it. I have others that are 10 years old that are favorable.

If I dispute and lose the tradeline how does it affect me??

How do i get the late marks removed?

    Anyone?

Send her the copy of your report where it shows Sallie Mae reporting the lates. Sallie Mae can change it.

If I get a student loan, will it show up on my credit reports?

Yes, whether it's federally subsidized or a private education loan.

Thanks, Breeze. I had a typo there. She said the deferment doesn't help late remarks. My sense of the whole thing is that they will check it out with the servicer . When they do this they will find that Sallie Mae didn't report it late but the servicer did and my fear is that they will add more marks to the report.

I just did a dispute with the CRA's yesterday so we will see what happens. Let them do the investigation and I will hope for someone to mess up.
