    Hi everyone!

I'm going to be helping a friend fix his reports but a need a bit of help. I really don't have any experience with student loan issues. He's got perfect reports expect students loans that have negative reporting and transfers to other banks. It appears just by glancing at his reports, he's got some duplicate stuff reporting.

I guess my question is, what info would I need to list on the forum to get some help on this.

I'd be glad to list his tradelines, true experience with these loans, etc....just need some serious guidance on getting started.

thanks in advance for any help I can get on this!

I'll tell you the problem that I had...

Several years ago, I had just got out of the hospital, called the state loan agency, and was told to just put a letter in the mail "requesting a deferment because I wasn't working because of medical reasons."

Now, a few weeks later, I get a deferrment form, because apparently the person left out ONE SENTENCE in what they told me to write, which would seem self-explainatory. ", and I have no income."

Well, by the time the form got to me it went into 30 days late (one went into 60 days late, because it was on a different cycle, apparently.)

Anyhow, I had no idea that it was reporting as 60-90 days late (depending on the account.)

I called them, and was connected to a supervisor, she (after several weeks to have someone find the microfiche) was able to pull up a copy of the original letter on microfiche, and was able to go back in and make the deferrment effective of the date that they received the letter.

When they updated the tradelines, on one CRA the actual payment history was updated, but the comment 60-90 days late, remained. After asking them to update a few more times, finally I was told by the CRA that the update of the payment history alone, doesn't give them permission to change the comment regarding the payment history; so I reluctantly told the CRA to dispute the paid late, and called them up to explain that they are telling me that the only way to get the late comments removed is for me to dispute the accounts, that I'm really not disputing the accounts, but that is the only way that they can get the comment synced with the payment history about the comment.

So now it's been updated to report in past 48 months, never paid late.

If the comments are incorrect, or there is a good case, whomever the student loans are reporting from may be able to work with them to get the comments/history fixed.
