Are there any success stories regarding late payment removals on student loan accounts? I've tried everything (goodwill, CRA disputes, numerous phone calls)...no luck. (I didn't default...they are currently deferred and it took 60 days to process deferment paperwork...that is where my lates come from...ugh). So they are now being reported as "Paid as Agreed" with a 60 day late pay thrown in.

Has anybody gotten the US Dept of Education to budge on lates?

    Thanks!!

I defaulted on two loans and I'm currently working on rehabilitating them with the CA for the Dept. of Ed. So far, they've been pleasant to work with, although I'm at the beginning of this process. They say after the one year rehab process they'll remove all negative marks from my credit report and the account will be in good standing. We'll see.

    Thanks for your input.

What they have told me is that if you default and go through rehab, yes, lates can be removed.

However if you are late but never to the point of default, sorry, but you are stuck with those late pays for 7-10 years.

I'm running out of ideas and motivation to get these removed...

According to Sallie Mae, you can not even apply to defer or place loans in forbearance UNTIL they are 30 days late. The cost of not paying them!!!

this won't work because the 2 statements contradict each other. THE END ** *** ** LB 59""""```

So these things being said, what can I do to dispute? It comes back verified every time.

    Thanks for the help.
