I recently sent my student loan servicer and email regarding the delinquent payment history which has reappeared on my EQ last month out of the blue. They had previously removed it after Rehabilitation and it has been reportiing with no negative information since December. I don't know why it reappeared. I called the student loan servicer and the told me it's incorrect and to dispute it with EQ. So I do and it's verified. ANYWAY... their response to my email to the loan servicer says that it was verifed in error and they would take care of it. In the meantime, the pulled a HARD inquiry on my EX!

Can they do that? Is that permissable purpose? The INQ says Installment Loan. Do you think I should wait till after they correct the listing before i tell them to remove the INQ? EX score dropped 4 points. :-(
And in my email to them I told them it was being reported incorrectly on EQ, not EX. UGH!!

    Early morning need coffee bump.

Basically my ? is that if I still owe them money, but not past due and have asked them to fix the way they are reporting my account on Equifax, can they do a hard inquiry on Experian legally?

    Thanks.

Who's your servicer? When I had problems with my SLs, I called them and they told me they would "never" pull a hard inquiry. Maybe they screwed up. Try to get them to change it to an AR inquiry.
