    Hello!

It has been awhile since I last popped in here.

Well anyway I have recently started going back to school, and right now my financial aid and loans take up all of the school tuition. I still need money for books and the remainder of the tuition. Unfortunately in my past I have made bad decisions, that has affected my credit. I have cleaned up most of my credit and the only thing I have left on my credit is a hospital medical bill, and an NCO settlement (almost done with that one). I have applied everywhere, and I have gotten denied left and right. I am able to get store cards and other credit cards no probs but cannot get a loan at all.
Are there any loans for those with bad credit/not so perfect credit? I see mortgage and auto loans for those with bad credit but nothing for students, ugh! Wondering if I can apply for those and use them for school hehe.

    Anyway please let me know.

Well I see you have recently started back to school.

Are you still working while attending school? Does (Did) your job have a 401k plan that you contributed to?
If so you might be able to take a loan against the money in the 401k

Not a good idea if you can't pay it off though, because not only will you lose the future earnings that money is making, but you will be hit with taxes and IRS penalty fees

This is kind of a last resort but it is available

    Hello!

I am disabled right now. So I am not working. Whatever 401k plans I had I am leaving those alone. I don't want to borrow against them as those always spell trouble in the future.

Thanks, and I will continue in my search.

Have you considered grants and scholarships? There should be plenty of government student aid if you are disabled, or an adult retraining for another job. Special consideration is given to those with exceptional financial need. Try this link to start:

Also, go to the financial aid counselor at your school to inquire about aid for disabled students. They should be aware of the programs that are out there.

You are wise to leave the 401k money alone
I only thought of that as a last resort for you

    good luck!
