I was at my friendly neighborhood credit bureau today to have them correct wrong addresses, my d.o.b. etc. I also pointed out to them that a collection (my last one) was being misreported as far as date of last activity goes. It is from a hospital stay in May of 95. DOL was 5/22/95. Apparently the insurance didn't pay quick enough and they turned it over to a local collection agency. Anyway, I told the cra rep the dol was wrong and needed to be corrected. She argued with me for 10 minutes, that if it gets sent to a ca, the dol changes and the 7 years starts again regardless of whether or not a payment was made. She then said if it goes from ca to ca, it could stay on my report for 25 years if they wanted, per the FCRA. When I asked her to show me where the FCRA says that, she told me I would have to find it on my own. What a bunch stupid morons. I'm so glad I am just about done with my repair. I can't stand dealing with these idiots anymore.
Next time, you'll have to print out the FCRA and take it with you. Opinion letters also. And we all know they're on drugs.

Exactly!! When someone askes a question, all you do is use their question as a platform to rant about all the unfairness. This does not help the person asking the question. lb, right now, you are hijacking someone else's thread just to make your own point.

I have to second that! I was talking to an experian clerk who treated me as if I was the idiot because I was arguing that when I took out a new loan to consolidate all my student loans I felt the other entries should read paid..and the new loan should be listed as it is..she insisted whenever you open or take out a new loan,credit card ect to pay off others the accounts should be listed as transfered because you are transfering balances, she refused to investigate or change this despite the fact I was holding in my hands and offered to fax to her letters from my previous loan holders stating thank you these loans are paid in full you have a zero balance.. *sighs* a letter goes out in the morning... hehehe reminds me of a sign we have up in the office at work.. a parody taken from the movie the 6th sense..
