Try living in Capitol Hill, Embassy Row or other areas in NW like Dupont, paying for parking, District taxes (property (on your vehicle) and income), etc....it amounts to well over 2K. Anything less than 2K puts you right next to a crack house. BTW, how long did YOU live in DC? The difference between DC and NYC is that NY covers a larger arean and there's a lot more to choose from. The District is much smaller and is more suited to well-heeled diplomats and politicians. Do a better job with your homework...
RE: try DC That is a small area. You dont have to live there to have a nice place in the area. Try alexandria. I dont live near crack houses either. But I guess you just wanted to stretch this to make a point whatever man.
RE: try DC I live in the crack house! If I don't ease up on the beer and the cookies and potato chips, my crack is going to show more and more ;-) If you want cheap rentals, come to Houston. Nobody in his/her right mind would want to live in this hellhole!
